About Gold Star FS
Gold Star FS is a full-service agriculture and energy supplier in Western IL dedicated to providing high quality products and services to our customers. We are headquartered in Cambridge, IL with offices in Mercer, Rock Island, Henry and Whiteside counties. We provide agronomic services, propane, fuel, and lubricant services and precision farming applications. We also have a turf department, tire shops and build grain systems and merchandise grain.
We are dedicated to supporting the local communities in which we do business. As part of this commitment to our communities, we are offering scholarship opportunities to local students with an interest in a career in agriculture.
Gold Star FS will offer two scholarships, each in the amount of $500 per semester. These will be granted to high school seniors or college students pursuing a two-year degree at Black Hawk College east in either Agribusiness Management or Agriculture Production and an additional $500 per semester can be awarded by participating in our program.
Objectives
The primary goal of the program is to encourage area students to prepare for a career in agriculture or agribusiness. This scholarship program is designed to provide college financial assistance to students interested in an agriculture career that live within the black hawk college district.
Who is Eligible?
To apply for a Gold Star FS Scholarship, an applicant must:
- Type essay about why you selected agriculture as an area of study and your career goals (minimum 200 words)
- Provide high school & college gpa (if applicable)
Internship
Students are eligible for a $500 scholarship each semester by:
- Participating in a paid internship as determined by their semester schedule, working during the summer between semesters
- Providing a copy of their transcripts
- Complete a job application and interview process
- Remain in good employment status at Gold Star FS, Inc.

Applications must be postmarked no later than July 15th in order to be considered for the Fall semester and Nov. 30th for the Spring semester consideration.
Selection of Recipients
The Gold Scholarship Committee will review the applications. Recipients will be notified of our decision by August 15th for Fall semester and December 15th for Spring semester.
